So much to see in Victoria but we were only here for a couple of days. Has been a full on year so opted to treat ourselves to a nice BnB for a couple of days on the way through to Tasmania and check out the Mountain Ash forests that Ron had always wanted to see. Set ourselves up in lovely Gruyere which with a hire car was a great central place to explore the region for a couple of days. Beautiful farmland with gorgeous views of mountains, birdlife and surrounded by fruit orchards full of delightful fruit in summer. Went for some walks through Sherbrooke Forest which was magical with towering Mountain Ash (the world’s largest flowering tree) and beautiful lush understory of fern trees and rich birdlife. Time was limited, but we saw there were lots of options for longer and more serious hiking if you wanted.8
